The easy way to manage your business is to cultivate the company values in your employees and build the right culture.
Because when you have established the company values and the right culture, you don’t have to constantly remind your employees to do their responsibilities and deliver their objectives.
It’s like the powerful “invisible force” that seeps into their subconscious and guides them on what is right and what is wrong.
But beware! Instilling the company values and establishing the right culture is not an easy task though.
Every employee has their own pre-conceptions and habits such that molding them into a certain company culture is often a difficult task.
And oftentimes, entrepreneurs are not conscious about building the right culture until it’s too late.
Remember, correcting a wrong culture is much much more difficult than building the right one, right from the start.
So what can you do?
The following tips may help:
1.) Make sure you have the company values in place and explain them well to the employees.
2.) Share real-life case studies from past experiences on how employees demonstrated or violated the company values.
3.) Relentlessly train and remind your employees what you believe in and what are expected from them. It may take many reminders before they start assimilating those values.
4.) If there’s an instigator promoting contrary behavior, address it immediately.
5.) Reward good behavior and announce them to the whole company as good examples.
What do you think? Have you consciously built your company’s culture or was it built by your employees?
