Happy Valentine’s Day Leapreneurs!
Since it’s the Hearts’ Day today, I remember a program that I did for our P&G distributor in Bicol Region, way back in 2003.
During that time, I was sent by my company back then (P&G, the company behind Tide, Ariel, Pantene, Safeguard, etc.) to learn the actual distributor operations and help them become more profitable.
I realized quickly that building strong relationships with sari-sari and grocery store owners is one of the keys in giving us more displays for our products, which will eventually lead to MORE SALES.
So you know what I did?
I embarked on an ambitious Valentine’s project to serenade (harana) our customers on Valentine’s Day!
We hired musicians and went around our biggest public markets to serenade the store owners and give them flowers. We thanked them for supporting and helping us grow our company.
It was such a simple gesture but definitely something that was SO POWERFUL!
Because they did not expect it and we were the only one who cared enough to do it! That set us apart from everyone else.
Once in a while, it really pays to surprise our customers (and you’ll also be pleasantly surprised by the results).
